What is the first step of becoming a Parent through foster adoption?

Transitions Children’s Services is a licensed Adoption Agency by the California State Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division. Our goal is to provide quality, culturally sensitive, trauma informed Adoption/Post Adoption services to children, families and non-minor dependents in the child welfare system. In providing Adoption services for children currently in the foster care system, Transitions Children’s Services will support continuity of care with a child or youth as they move toward a forever home.

Transitions Children’s Services is committed to the child/youth’s need for placement in a permanent home and therefore encourages foster parents to consider adoption as a possibility from their early recruitment. In addition, Transitions Children’s Services understands that Adoption is life long process and therefore prepared to provide post adoption services. Those services will be available to all involved in the adoption triad and may include the following: counseling, support groups, on-going education, information and referral and mentor parents.
