Online Training Opportunties for Prosepective Resource Families
January 1 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Contact the Fresno Office Recruiter/Trainer, Deborah Hough, for more information regarding becoming a Resource Parent while we shelter-in-place during the Covid-19 pandemic. 559.260.0731. For the Visalia Office location, contact Adrian Hughes at 559.287.7905
We begin with a telephone call, answering basic questions and acquiring your address to mail you an orientation packet. Once received, we schedule a phone appointment to go over the requirements to becoming a foster parent. Should you want to continue with the process, we then begin accessing our online training options.
We will assign online Trauma Training via www.fosterparentcollege.com which is free to our families. In addition to the basic training required, you can obtain online Infant/Child First Aid and CPR via www.redcross.org at the cost of $35.00 per parent. Water Safety can be obtained through www.homepoolessentials.org for a total family cost of $19.95. Safe Sleep and Head Trauma courses (for families caring for children under the age of 4) can be accessed through www.agrilifeextension.tamu.edu at the cost of $7.00 per parent.
Deborah (Fresno location) and or Adrian (Visalia location) will guide you through the process, as well as make arrangements for you to access our training workbook which includes our application, all required paperwork, our policies and procedures, additional training information as well as our TCS Foster Parent Handbook.
We look forward to assisting you!
